Bytessence RegistryCleaner
Bytessence RegistryCleaner is a freeware tool designed to clean and optimize the Windows(R) registry. The registry is a database used for holding both system and program settings. While you install and uninstall software this database will accumulate entries that are no longer needed or point to missing files. In some cases this can lead to system instability, error messages or poor performance.
BRC will detect, backup and remove errors from many areas of the registry in the shortest time. The integrated process, startup, service and uninstallation managers can also help remove malware from the computer in case the system tools or applets are disabled or corrupted.

BRC can be downloaded from the links below. Note that the current release is in beta stage and may contain bugs or errors. It is not recommended to install or use it on production machines.

If you wish to contribute with language files you can translate one of the files from the Localization folder of your BRC installation (please see the FAQ section for more information).
Frequently asked questions
A: To localize BRC you can open the file called 'English.ini' from the 'Localization\' directory of your BRC installation and translate the lines. The files use the standard INI layout so you can use any raw text editor for translation (like Notepad). To make the job easy you can use IniTranslator, an open-source translation utility. After you finish, save the file with UTF-8 encoding (as BRC supports Unicode). If you want to share it with other users you can send it in an archive at the support e-mail (see the Contact page) and it will be published here.
A: To install translations, unpack the archive to a temporary location (like the Desktop) and copy the extracted .INI file to the 'Localization\' directory of your BRC installation (for example 'C:\Program Files\BRC\Localization\'). After copying the file, restart the program if it was running then open the Settings dialog. At this time you should be able to see the name of the installed file in the translations box. To activate it, click the desired language in the list, press 'Accept' to save the settings then restart BRC.
